ACYA's Careers Networking Night

Posted by Jacqueline Hong (Australia-China Youth Association) on 29 May 2017

In its third year running, ACYA's Careers Networking Night provided student access to employers in a competitive careers sphere

As one of ACYA’s premiere events, the Careers Networking Night has once again served as a brilliant platform for attendees to network with organisations seeking both Chinese and Australian employees. Held at The Oaks on Collins, representatives from 18 different firms were present to showcase and network with students. Through sheer determination and perseverance, ACYA has worked to secure representatives from notable and prestigious firms: law firm giants Clayton Utz and MinterEllison, big banks Westpac and NAB, telecommunications leader Telstra and the formidable Victoria Police are just some of the many firms who came along.

Compounding our aim to strengthen Australia-China Youth relations, the event was open to both domestic and international students. The careers sphere has become brutally competitive and students must be able to find some sort of competitive edge in order to face the challenges of career hunting. As such, coupled with firm support, ACYA has worked tirelessly to organize the Careers Networking Night, allowing attendees to foster the myriad of careers opportunities available. Not only were attendees able to learn about the many career opportunities on offer from firms but were also able to network and build lasting relationships with firm representatives. Facilitated by finger food and drinks, the ACYA Careers Networking Night closed with much success and renewed motivation from students who were able to gain irreplaceable career opportunities.
