ABOUT THE CLUB

Amnesty International Monash aims to educate and inspire students to engage in important social issues.

As a branch of Amnesty International Australia, Monash Amnesty aligns itself with broader goals of Amnesty International Australia and campaigns for key issues that Amnesty International Australia identifies as urgent and to be of key importance through events through Monash Amnesty.

Over 2012 - 2013, Monash Amnesty has hosted a number of guest speaker events, campaigned on campus, organised fundraiser events, hosted film screenings and provided opportunities to students to engage further in key issues.

Key campaigns have been Aboriginal Homelands, Arms Trade Treaty (which opened for signature in May 2013), Refugee Rights, Women's Rights in Egypt and more.

In future, we aim to increase our scale of impact by running larger events and engaging a more diverse range of students on a deeper level.
